Workforce Success Story: Windi Williams
Success Story
Tulsa Workforce Development Area
Windi Williams
At the time of her enrollment, Windi was feeling hopeless. She was behind on her mortgage, needed to find part time employment and was in a daunting legal battle. The staff member partnered with Windi to create an individualized employment plan and helped her tackle goals one step at a time. Through this guidance, she gained a part time role at St. John’s hospital enabling her to build work history while attending classes. Windi had some challenges with her part time role. Staff mentored and provided suggestions, tips, and best practices on how to navigate difficult work situations. Workforce Tulsa also provided Windi with supportive services to help ensure her mortgage payment was made and other obligations were resolved. This helped eliminate a lot of the stress that Windi had and enabled her to focus on her education.
Windi stated when she initially enrolled, she thought she might get help with job placement or paying a bill, maybe some resume help. But with Workforce Tulsa staff, she gained a true mentor that helped her overcome one of the most difficult times of her life.
Windi is now employed full-time at Hillcrest Hospital as an EKG Monitor Technician. Windi is an amazing example of taking a difficult situation and creating a fresh start full of hope and opportunity. On behalf of everyone at Workforce Tulsa, Congratulations Windi!
