Workforce Success Story: Francisca Olson

Success Story

Northeast Workforce Development Area

Francisca Olson

Francisca Olson came into the American Job Center in May 2019 looking for assistance with training to get into the Healthcare career field. Francisca had been working in retail but was concerned about the ability to pay for training.

Around the same time that Francisca came in for services, Adams Parc Post Acute Recovery in Bartlesville and the Northeast Workforce Development Board began collaborating on creating opportunities for Work Experiences at their healthcare facility. Adams Parc created multiple positions as potential opportunities for participants with a goal of introducing participants to the Healthcare industry.

Upon approval for services, Francisca was offered an interview with Adams Parc for their Nurse Aide Tech work experience opportunity. The interview went well, and Francisca was told that she would be a great fit for the company; this propelled Francisca to want to be a work experience participant and get exposure to the healthcare career field. Francisca fully commit herself to the healthcare career pathway. Francisca began her work experience at Adams Parc in November 2019, and has since realized that taking care of patients was her dream job

Adams Parc describes Francisca as being eager to learn, and a great team player that goes the extra mile and always has a smile on her face. Further stating, that she has done remarkable, and is a great value to the company due to her assistance to the CNAs and nurses at the facility; she has been exactly what Adams Parc was looking for in a Work Experience participant. Adams Parc has stated that they have a spot for Francisca as soon as she gets her CNA license. For Adams Parc, the Work Experience process has been great, and gives clients a true perspective on career fields.
