Success Story: Sierra Betancourt
Sierra Betancourt is grateful for her experience with Oklahoma Works.
Sierra met DeAnne Sedwick a career manager at the Oklahoma Works center in Tahlequah. DeAnne helped Sierra create a resume, find vouchers for work clothes and even donated some of her own clothes.
Sierra was soon able to find and accept a position with the Cherokee Heritage Center. After a few weeks she was promoted to Group Tours Coordinator.
The experience has changed Sierra’s life in numerous ways. She’s proud of her new career and skills as part of her new job preserving, promoting and teaching Cherokee culture.
