November 14, 2017 9:00 a.m. | Grand River Energy Center Student Tour | 8142 Hwy 412B Chouteau, OK 74337 | High school and CareerTech students are invited to attend a tour of the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA), Oklahoma's state-owned electric utility. GRDA operates three hydroelectric facilities and manages two lakes along the Grand River system. These facilities, along with coal and gas generators at the Grand River Energy Center (GREC), Red Bud facility (gas) and wind generation from several different Oklahoma wind farms combine to give GRDA a total electric generation capacity of close to 1,900 megawatt. GRDA transmits and delivers this electricity across its 24-county service area in Northeast Oklahoma via a sophisticated energy delivery system.
